Iris has been the Program Director for the San Diego County Black Infant Health Program (BIH) since November 2012. She is a native San Diegan, and graduate of Morse High School. Iris also completed a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a Master of Public Health Degree in Chronic Disease Epidemiology before starting her work career.
Iris has an interest in ensuring that all people have the right to and access to quality health care and personal wellness. She is particularly passionate about women’s reproductive rights and the ability to have healthy and supportive pregnancies that result in babies, families, and communities who all thrive.
When not working, Iris loves to travel and to participate in Urban Line Dancing.
