On Saturday, August 17th, Black Infant Health, Healthy Start, and WIC came together to host an annual Black Breastfeeding Week Celebration! Black Breastfeeding Week takes place during the week of August 25th – August 31st , and it was created to bring awareness to the racial disparity in breastfeeding rates. At our celebration, over 60 pregnant and breastfeeding families attended this free drive thru event. They received a free breastfeeding gift bag with various items ranging from a nursing top, nursing pads, lotion & body oil, diapers, books, and much more.
