Chair
Dr. Jeffrey D. Carr, Sr., is currently the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and Associate Vice President at Point Loma Nazarene University where he also serves as adjunct faculty in the sociology department. He has held numerous teaching and administrative positions in elementary, high school, and college in an educational career that spans nearly 30 years. He received his B.A. from Mississippi College and his Master’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. After completing research and studies he received his doctorate from the University of San Francisco. He continues to do research in the field diversity and inclusion and to speak both locally and nationally on the status of underrepresented students in higher education.
Dr. Carr is actively involved in the community and serves on the boards of numerous community and educational organizations including service as the President of Concerned Parents Alliance, Inc.(a California 501(c)3 non profit), President of the Southern California Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education, and a member of the Board of Advisors for the Urban League of San Diego and the Board of Advisors for the National University Community Research Institute.
Dr. Carr is married and the proud parent of one son.
