Board Member
Kyra Seay is the Vice President of Community Relations and Business Development at California Coast Credit Union, bringing over a decade of experience in workforce development, community relations, and fundraising. During her tenure as a nonprofit leader, Kyra has designed numerous strategic initiatives to foster growth and economic mobility in under-resourced, marginalized communities. In each of her leadership roles, she has championed community initiatives that center financial education, mental health awareness, and access to gainful employment as key drivers of impact and inclusion.
In her role as VP of Community Relations and Business Development with California Coast Credit Union, Kyra leads initiatives that forge strong partnerships with local organizations, driving financial education and inclusion across diverse communities in San Diego County and Riverside County. The development of these strategic alliances and innovative programs not only enhance community economic well-being but also solidify the credit union’s commitment to social responsibility and financial empowerment.
Born and raised in Chicago, Kyra began her career by creating Foundations for Success, a groundbreaking work readiness curriculum focused on creating external change through introspective exercises, for the Black United Fund of Illinois. After moving her family to San Diego, Kyra continued her career in the nonprofit sector, serving in management and executive roles for the MAAC Community Charter School, Dreams for Change, and City Heights Community Development Corporation.
Her experience leading diversity and inclusion efforts at the staff, executive, and board levels underscores her commitment to creating opportunities for transformation. Kyra’s forward-thinking strategies and unwavering dedication to economic development seamlessly align with California Coast Credit Union’s role as a leader in financial inclusivity and community well-being.
Kyra has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, and holds a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University. Her favorite pastimes include spending time with her two children, watching historical and current event documentaries, and painting.
