Chargers Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, A.G. Spanos, and President and Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ruben Barrales, presented Neighborhood House Association with a check for $2,000 during half-time of the September 25th Chargers game versus the Kansas City Chiefs. NHA has Barrales to thank for the donation who selected the organization as the recipient of the money when he was awarded the NFL’s Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.
After recently partnering with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF), the NFL decided to launch the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards across all NFL markets in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. The award is presented to contributing Hispanic leaders in each market and is accompanied by a $2,000 donation. Award recipients are able to pass on the donation to an organization of their choice that serves the Latino community. Barralles, who has served on NHA’s board of directors since 2010, chose NHA, an organization who serves over 10,000 Hispanic families.
The donation will help support the operations of NHA’s 120 locations throughout San Diego County. NHA extends its appreciation to it’s esteemed board member, the San Diego Chargers, the NFL and the HFF.
