In this Q&A, Kiara shares about her favorite ways to spend quality time with her kids, and why she’s absolutely loving a program designed to support Black moms like her.
Q&A with Kiara
What month was your baby born?
January 2024
Do you have any other children? If so, what are their ages?
Yes- 10 and 2 years old
What do you enjoy doing with your kids?
Quality time:
My quality time looks like reading one of their favorite books, having a movie night at the house, or playing board games or card games.
What do you enjoy about BIH?
There are multiple things that I love about the Black Infant Health program, such as it allows us Black women to freely express our day-to-day issues with one another. It has taught me that I am not alone throughout this process, and my experiences with racism in the healthcare setting are seen and not dismissed.
During this fall season, what new opportunities are you looking forward to?
I would say I am excited about the gatherings and expos that are going to be presented by the Black community here in San Diego. Lastly, I’m excited about reaching the goals that I have set with my Family Health Advocate.
